Cool Spring Elementary School hosted an evening of hands-on science, technology, math and engineering challenges and activities on Thursday.

A crowd of students and family members packed Cool Spring Elementary School on Thursday night to participate in the school’s family STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Night.

The event, which included dinner for everyone who attended, was organized by the staff, in conjunction with the school’s Parent Teacher Organization.

There were a variety of hands-on STEM challenges and activities for all grade levels, including making slime, using Virtual Reality headsets and car races with balloons and straws.

Parents also took part in student-led conferences in which students showed their portfolio of work to their families and discussed their academic progress.
