The Iredell Republican Women, the Republican Women of LKN, the Iredell Republican Patriot Men, the Iredell County Republican Men’s Club and the Iredell County GOP Executive Committee will host a forum for GOP candidates for the Iredell County Board of Commissioners.

The candidates forum, which is open to the public, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, January 15, at the Iredell County Government Center in Statesville.

Seven Republicans will be on the ballot in the March 5 primary, including:

♦ Incumbent Scottie Brown (REP), Troutman;
♦ Incumbent Gene Houpe (REP), Statesville;
♦ Incumbent Melissa Neader (REP), Statesville;
♦ Richard Coleman (REP), Mooresville;
♦ H. William Compton Jr. (REP), Mooresville;
♦ Brad Howard (REP), Mooresville; and
♦ Angela Wokatsch Matthews (REP), Statesville

The three top vote-getters will advance to the November 5 general election.

All Republican candidates have been invited. Most plan to attend and are excited to share their vision for Iredell County’s future, according to the forum’s organizers.

Early voting for the March 5 primary begins on February 15.
