Two Charlotte men wanted on felony charges in Mecklenburg and Iredell counties were apprehended by Mooresville Police Department officers.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department investigators contacted the MPD on Tuesday, July 6, with information about two individuals who were wanted on outstanding felony warrants by the CMPD and MPD, Mooresville police said in a news release.

MPD officers located a suspect vehicle on Argus Lane in the Village at Byers Creek shopping center at approximately 4:49 p.m. on Tuesday, police said.

The suspect vehicle fled east on Highway 150 and then south on Interstate 77.

An MPD traffic unit deployed stop sticks, puncturing two tires on the suspect vehicle, but the pursuit continued into Mecklenburg County, according to the news release.

The pursuit ended near I-77 at Exit 23 with both suspects being taken into custody without incident.

Once the individuals were in custody, MPD officers determined they were suspects in additional larcenies at Harris Teeter (over $2,000 in merchandise) and Walgreens (over $300 in merchandise), police said.

Avone Williams, 22, of Charlotte was charged with felony larceny, conspiracy to commit felony larceny, and misdemeanor destruction of evidence. He was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $35,000 secured bond.

Rasean Mustipher, 32, of Charlotte was charged with felony flee to elude, felony larceny, conspiracy to commit felony larceny, misdemeanor aggressive driving, misdemeanor driving while license revoked, misdemeanor driving left of center, and misdemeanor failing to stop at a red light. He was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $55,000 secured bond.
