Performing Arts Live Iredell’s 2022-2023 season will continue on Saturday, February 25, with “Kicking the Clouds Away,” a performance by audience favorites Ryan & Ryan.

The show begins at 7:30 p.m. at Mac Gray Auditorium on the campus of Statesville High School.

Donald Ryan and Barron Ryan are dynamic father and son piano virtuosos. Donald has earned the distinction of being among the most accomplished pianists in the world as a Steinway Artist. Barron has been a featured soloist across the United States and internationally. He is also a distinguished composer, and in 2021 was named one of “Ten Innovators To Watch” by Smithsonian Magazine.

Together, their show-stopping style is a blend of classic and contemporary, from Rachmaninoff and Gershwin to Billy Joel. As a performing team, their experience performing classical, jazz, ragtime and funk allows them to create exciting new music and offer fresh interpretations to familiar works.

One of the pianos Ryan & Ryan will be playing is late PAL Executive Director Bill Warren’s beloved Steinway, which once belonged to Statesville High School. On Saturday night it will be back on stage at Mac Gray Auditorium, recently restored and played by a master musician.
