Two Lake Norman High School students face felony drug charges following an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

On Friday, August 25, ICSO Resource Officers at Lake Norman High School were made aware of a possible narcotics violation.

During the ensuing investigation, the deputies viewed school security footage that showed two students exchanging a Ziploc bag and cash in the hallway, Sheriff Darren Campbell said in a news release.

The students in question were located, and one juvenile was in possession of the cash and the other juvenile was in possession of a Ziploc bag containing Psilocybin mushrooms, Campbell said. All of the items were seized.

One of the juveniles was charged with Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule I Controlled Substance and Felony Possession of Schedule I Controlled Substance.

The other student was charged with Felony Buying or Receiving Schedule I Controlled Substance.
