The Statesville Police Department announced the arrest of Michael Thomas Bzik, 36, of Concord in a news release Tuesday.

Bzik was taken into custody in Allentown, Pa., on Monday. He is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the robbery of the Bank of America located at 1616 E. Broad Street in Statesville.

During the robbery, an individual walked into the bank about 9:30 a.m., indicated to bank personnel that he had a gun and demanded money, police said. He fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money in a Toyota Prious.
