During the Statesville Woman’s Club’s December luncheon meeting, the club collected unwrapped toys for children in need in the community for Christmas. Members brought art supplies, board games, books, stuffed animals, dolls, basketballs, footballs and other toys.

The toys were given to Statesville Police Department for its Fifth Annual Toy Drive. SPD Cpl. Chan Austin said this year’s toy drive will help around 350 kids. Members of SPD delivered an estimated 2,000 to 3,000 toys in time to brighten the children’s faces on Christmas morning.
