The Troutman Police Department has released the names of two men who were shot in the 200 block of Mills Avenue on Saturday night.

Zachary Craig, 20, of Charlotte and Alexander Hipple, 18, of Mooresville were traveling in Craig’s vehicle on Mills Avenue when they were shot at about 8:25 p.m., according to a TPD news release.

After the shooting, Craig drove to the Food Lion at 520 North Main Street and sought help, police said.

Troutman Police Department, Troutman Fire-Rescue and Iredell County EMS personnel arrived on scene.

Hipple was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries, police said.

Craig was transported to a regional medical center, where he was treated for his injuries and released, according to the news release.

The TPD requested the assistance of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. Investigators are currently following up on several leads.

No information about a suspect is being released at this time, according to the news release.
