Career Academy and Technical School Transition Coordinator and Exceptional Children Specialist Lee Cope was honored as the 2024 Distinguished Service Award Winner on March 11 during the Spring Director’s Institute Luncheon at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro.

Cope was nominated by Danielle Dixon, director of EC Programming Services, for her significant contributions to the positive outcomes of students with disabilities in North Carolina in the following areas: Implementation of innovative specially designed instructions, dynamic leadership, administrative supervision; coordination of parent/school/community partnerships, and outstanding public advocacy.
