Piedmont HealthCare held the company’s annual bowling event on Saturday.

The outing supports Yokefellow Ministry. Various local businesses donated items for a silent auction and for the Yokefellow Pantry.

With the exception of the Covid years, Piedmont HealthCare has held the event annually since 2016, Director of Operations Melissa Haines said.

Thirty-two teams competed for bragging rights — and trophies — at Victory Lanes Events and Entertainment Center in Mooresville. The teams included employees and their family members.

Tommy Simmons, executive director of Yokefellow, said he is grateful for the event and Piedmont HealthCare’s support of the nonprofit.

“One hundred percent of these donations go to our Helping Center food pantry and towards crisis situations,” he shared. “We are proud of our thrift store and take 100 percent of donations to help people, not with operating costs.”

Piedmont HealthCare CEO Jeffrey Smith enjoyed the annual event. He brought along some of his family members to participate.

“I’ve been bowling since I was a kid,” Smith said. “I used to spend time bowling with my dad.”

Saturday, he was able to include his son and grandson.

“It’s a wonderful time for family and friends.”
