GG’s Art Frames Gifts will host a book-signing event for retired WBTV news reporter David Whisenant on Saturday, December 7. 

Whisenant will be signing copies of his new book, “Chasing The Story,” from 12 to 3 p.m.

The author spent 32 years working as an on-air reporter for the CBS affiliate in Charlotte. From horrific crimes to stories of triumph and victory and life during the pandemic, he covered a wide range of stories, including encounters with celebrities and presidents.

In his new book, Whisenant reflects on how his own personal tragedy affected the way he covered the news. “Chasing The Story” provides a behind-the-camera look at the stories and events that helped shape the greater Charlotte area. He also addresses the issues facing journalists today, including social media, the changing reliance on local news, and the increasing distrust of the media in general.
