Firefighters from Mooresville, Mount Mourne, Shepherds and South Iredell fire departments battled a structure fire on Indian Springs Drive early Thursday morning.

After being dispatched around 4:45 a.m., crews found a fully involved fire when they arrived on scene.

Two firefighters were injured, including one who was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries by Iredell County EMS personnel.

Several pets, including two dogs, perished in the blaze, authorities said. The fire was declared under control at 6:12 a.m.

The Iredell County Fire Marshal, Mooresville Fire Marshal’s Office, and Iredell County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
