Dr. Vivek Trivedi has been granted the distinguished title of Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG). This designation is a testament to Trivedi’s outstanding professional accomplishments and exceptional competence in the field of gastroenterology.

Dr. Vivek Trivedi

Trivedi practices at Piedmont HealthCare’s Comprehensive Digestive Care Center in Statesville and PHC’s Specialty Care Center in Mooresville.

Since its establishment in the mid-1930s by the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the FACG designation has been selectively bestowed upon individuals who have demonstrated significant achievements and excellence in various areas of gastroenterology, including clinical practice, academic medicine, gastrointestinal endoscopy, gastrointestinal radiology, and gastrointestinal pathology.

To achieve Fellowship status, Trivedi successfully met rigorous criteria set forth by the ACG, including:

♦ Scholarly Activities: Demonstrating ongoing scholarly activities, including continuing education experience, professional leadership, and excellence in clinical practice and/or academic medicine.

♦ Membership: Maintaining current and uninterrupted membership or international membership in the ACG for a minimum of five years post Resident/Trainee Membership.

♦ CME Courses: Completing a minimum of three distinct ACG managed and sponsored CME courses within the last six years, including attendance at three in-person meetings.

♦ Involvement in ACG Activities: Providing evidence of ongoing involvement in ACG activities such as committee participation, courses, and annual meeting attendance.

♦ Letters of Recommendation: Securing letters of recommendation from current Fellows of the College, highlighting Trivedi’s qualifications for Fellowship, including research and publications, teaching, clinical care, medical leadership, community service related to gastroenterology, integrity, moral character, and activities.

“Dr. Vivek Trivedi’s attainment of the FACG designation is a reflection of his dedication to the highest standards of patient care, education, and research within the gastroenterology community. His exemplary contributions and commitment to advancing the field make him a deserving recipient of this prestigious honor,” Piedmont HealthCare officials said in a news release.
