Seventy artists entered a total of 128 entries in the 46th Anniversary SpringFest Judged Show & Competition presented by Mooresville Arts.

Artists from Mooresville, Cornelius, Davidson, Charlotte and beyond are showcasing their talent and creativity in this exhibit, which is one of Mooresville Arts’ most popular and long-standing shows.

Artwork include paintings, drawings, mixed media, pottery, glass, wood and more. Artwork is for sale, and art sales directly benefit local artists and Mooresville Arts, a nonprofit art gallery.

Artist and educator Deb Koo served as judge, lending her time, artist’s eye and expertise in viewing the exhibit and selecting the show’s top honors.

“It was my first time being at Mooresville Arts, and when I walked into the gallery, I was so impressed,” Koo said. “Congratulations to all 70 artists. It is a strong and beautiful show. There is a lot of talent at Mooresville Arts. This was a very, very difficult show to judge and it was hard for me to choose only eight pieces out of 129 pieces. I truly wish I could pick more.

“I was excited to see a variety of media, subject matter, styles, sizes — I think this is what a healthy arts show and community looks like. I was humbled by the talent I saw, and I feel I need to go to my studio and work harder.”

An artists’ reception on Friday, April 19, attracted nearly 300 people.

Sponsors for the show are Lake Norman Realty Inc., Four Corners Framing & Gallery, and Cheap Joe’s Art Stuff.

SpringFest is on display in the Mooresville Arts Gallery, located at 103 W. Center Street, through Thursday, May 30. Gallery Hours are Tuesday-Friday from 12 to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Starting in May, new hours will be Tuesday-Saturday from 12  to 4 p.m.
