A Mooresville man was jailed without bond on an attempted murder charge on Friday.

The Mooresville Police Department announced the arrest of Tymir Tyvay Lowe, 32, of Fontanelle Drive in a news release.

About 7:05 a.m. Friday, MPD officers responded to a report of an assault at a home at 627 Spruce Street, police said.

After arriving at the scene, officers located the victim, who had been assaulted with a hammer and screwdriver in a shed behind the residence, according to the news release.

The victim and witnesses on scene identified Lowe as a suspect, police said.

Officers began searching for Lowe and found him while responding to a suspicious person call, according to the news release.

Lowe was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with felony attempted murder and placed in the Iredell County Detention Center without bond.

The victim was transported to Atrium Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
