Members of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Squad on Tuesday arrested 21-year-old twin brothers, one of whom was wanted in multiple jurisdictions.

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrests of Carlos Manuel Clark and Christopher Lewis Clark, both of Sandy Cove Road in Cornelius, in a news release on Thursday.

The Warrant Squad was notified by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers and Huntersville Police Department officers that the two men were traveling through Iredell County. Carlos Clark was wanted for felony warrants for his arrest on charges related to fleeing from law enforcement in Union and Mecklenburg counties.

Deputy D. Joyce and Deputy J. Welborn located the suspect vehicle and positively identified Carlos and Christoper Clark as the occupants, according to the news release. The deputies performed a felony traffic stop on the vehicle on River Highway in Mooresville.

Interstate Criminal Enforcement Team Sgt. L. Hayes responded to the scene with Canine Connie. She was deployed around the vehicle and gave a positive indication for the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle, according to the news release.

During the ensuing search of the vehicle, deputies found and seized 371 grams of marijuana, 323 grams of psychedelic mushrooms, and U.S Currency consistent with the sale of narcotics, Campbell said.

Carlos and Christopher Clark were arrested and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center. Magistrate Callejas ordered them held without bond pending a court appearance.

Carlos Clark was charged with three counts of Felony Fleeing to Elude Arrest; Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver a Schedule I Substance; Felony Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance; Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver a Schedule VI Substance; Felony Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance and three moving violations.

Christopher Clark was charged with Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver a Schedule I Substance, Felony Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance, Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Felony Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, and Felony Maintaining a Vehicle or Dwelling for a Controlled Substance.
