Troutman Police Department officers apprehended an escaped prisoner from Pennsylvania on Tuesday and charged a woman with harboring a fugitive.

The TPD announced the arrests of Aaron Jay Low, 43, of Tioga, Pa., and  Jamie Irene Craig, 44, of Mansfield, Pa., in a news release on Wednesday.

The TPD received information from the Pennsylvania State Police on Monday that a prisoner on work release had escaped and was being assisted by a woman who used her credit card at a Dollar General store in Troutman, according to the news release.

 Officers were provided information on the vehicle that Low and Craig were traveling in and advised to be on the lookout for them, police said.

On Tuesday, officers located the vehicle traveling near Autumn Leaf Road and S. Main Street and conducted a traffic stop on Byers Road, according to the news release.

Low and Craig were taken into custody.

Low was charged with being a fugitive from justice and ordered held on a $500,000 bond while awaiting extradition. Craig was charged with harboring a fugitive and ordered held on a $10,000 bond.
