Two great events — Uncorked & Artsy and the Festival of Food Trucks — return to Downtown Mooresville this weekend!

Uncorked & Artsy is back on Friday, April 5, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. This event features wine and craft beer tastings at 18 participating Downtown Mooresville businesses, an Art Walk where local and regional artists display and sell works along Broad and Main streets, plus live music, store specials, and light appetizers.

“Mooresville Arts is looking forward to the Uncorked & Artsy event, a multifaceted celebration of the arts held in the heart of downtown,” said Mooresville Arts Gallery Director Jessica DeHart. “Mooresville Arts is very proud and fortunate to partner with the Mooresville Downtown Commission in this effort; we are thankful for their continued support of our organization and the arts in Mooresville.”

The MDC has partnered with Mooresville Arts on this wonderful event since 2016.

“Since that time, we are thrilled to have been able to donate more than $20,000 to Mooresville Arts based on event proceeds. It’s a lovely evening of art, music, and shopping in Downtown,” said Kim Atkins, executive director of the Mooresville Downtown Commission.

With close to 40 artists, there’s sure to be something for everyone.

Tickets are $25 per person and include 16 tastings and a souvenir Downtown Uncorked & Artsy glass. The art and live music performances are free to attend. A portion of the proceeds directly benefit Mooresville Arts.

2024 Festival of Food Trucks

The 2024 Festival of Food Truck series kicks off Saturday, April 6.

The Festival of Food Trucks has expanded and will be held on Broad Street from Center Avenue to Moore Avenue and Main Street from Center Avenue to Iredell Avenue. It gets crowded so bring a chair, bring a friend, hang out in the street, delight in 15 food trucks from around the area, taste some delicious gourmet fare, listen to live music, stroll the streets & shop. The event is from 5 to 8:30 p.m.

The MDC is thrilled to begin the season with live music by Dani Kerr & The Skeleton Krew.

Kerr is a 24-year-old Statesville native and her voice is the most compelling aspect of her artistry. People often tell her they’re emotionally engaged by its earthy, raspy quality. In a sometimes predictable music scene, Kerr wants to shake things up a bit. “My motto is, I’m gonna bring soulful rock back into play, try to keep that flame alive, keep it lit, keep it going forever.”
