Vandor Corporation has agreed to purchase the plastics injection molding assets of RPM Plastics on Speedball Road in Statesville.

The Richmond, Ind.-based manufacturer plans to expand its operations at the new location.

“The Vandor family is impressed with the people and area of Statesville. Vandor can now better serve nearby wire and cable manufacturers with its Reel Options products throughout the Southeast Region,” CEO Alan Elder said.

Vandor, which recently celebrated its 51st anniversary, has over 225 employees, primarily located in its three Indiana manufacturing and warehousing facilities, along with a growing number of remote assembly centers throughout North America. With more than 50 issued and pending patents, Vandor provides packaging solutions for the wire and cable industry and many other markets.

Partners involved in the project include the Economic Development Partnership of NC, NC Community College System, Mitchell Community College, Centralina Workforce Development Board, Iredell County Economic Development Corporation, City of Statesville, and Iredell County.

“We are excited that another fine national corporation has decided to expand its footprint in Statesville. Vandor is a leader in the wire and cable packaging and injection molding spaces and will fit nicely into our community,” Statesville Mayor Costi Kutteh said. “We look forward to their investment and the jobs they will bring.”
