As the holiday season approaches, the Lonely Children’s Fund continues to make a difference in the lives of children and teens in foster care in Iredell County.

Recently, the Lonely Children’s Fund helped provide much-needed assistance for teenage siblings who faced an incredibly difficult year. After being evicted from their home, these siblings experienced instability and uncertainty as they lived in various places, including storage units, a family car, and with friends. During such a challenging time, even basic necessities like clothing were hard to come by.

Thanks to the support of the Lonely Children’s Fund, they received clothing that helped them feel like “normal” teenagers again. Having access to items similar to what their peers wore made a tremendous impact, boosting their confidence, comfort, and sense of belonging as they started a new school year.

For teens in foster care, these acts of generosity mean so much more than just material support. They help rebuild self-esteem, belonging, and hope. The donations received by the Lonely Children’s Fund continue to change lives every day.

By helping meet the basic needs of children and families facing hardship, Lonely Children’s Fund ensures that no child feels forgotten.

Please take time to donate to the Lonely Children’s Fund, and make a difference in the lives of the children in foster care in Iredell County. The Lonely Children’s Fund goal for the 2025-2026 holiday season is $30,000. We are hopeful that the community will overflow this fund with their donations, as these children deserve the very best. Every contribution, no matter the size, gives a young person in foster care the support they need to thrive.
