Former Troutman Councilman George W. Harris, who lost his seat by a single vote in 2023, was the top vote-getter in Tuesday’s race for three seats on the Town Council, according to unofficial results.
Harris garnered 329 votes, incumbent Felina Harris was second with 316 votes and challenger Tonya Reynolds Bartlett was third with 263 votes.
Incumbent Jerry Oxsher finished fourth with 226 votes.
Great news to see some of the “old guard” get shuffled out. It’s too bad that Ron Wyatt’s good friend George Harris gets to keep his claws in government. Don’t worry though, I’m sure the town manager will appoint his buddy Mr. Oxsher to a committee position.
Oxsher broke every promise he made to the voters. He quickly became a member of the good old boys club.
