Special to IFN
Based on the authority of the North Carolina Fire Code, Mooresville Fire-Rescue, in conjunction with the N.C. Forestry Service, has lifted the burning ban that prohibits open burning within 100 feet of a structure or anywhere in the town limits.
As a reminder, outdoor open burning of yard waste, such as leaves, branches, and plant material, construction materials, lumber, and other products, including trash, newspapers, or other non-vegetative material, is prohibited at all times under the Mooresville Municipal Code.
Burning in fire pits (commercial or constructed) can resume.
The fire department reminds everyone to always use caution anytime open burning occurs.
