Iredell Memorial Hospital has once again been placed in the top 25 best hospitals in the state by Business North Carolina.
Business North Carolina hospital rankings are generated using more than 25 healthcare metrics with an emphasis on data collected from the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Other sources include The LeapFrog Group, which named Iredell Memorial a top hospital for 2024, Blue Center of Distinction awards from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of North Carolina, and U.S. News & World Report ratings. Other factors include infection rates, mortality rates, readmissions, and patient satisfaction surveys for common procedures.
Because of the nature of these metrics, Business North Carolina’s hospital rankings tend to favor larger health systems, further proving Iredell Health System’s dedication to providing quality care close to home, despite its comparatively smaller size next to others on the list.
Iredell Memorial Hospital was also named a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Proven Winner for maternity care, making the facility a Blue Distinction Center. This recognition is based on criteria that includes patient safety and results and input from the medical community.

Agree! They do an incredible job. They saved my life in 2020. After going to urgent care, I was rushed by ambulance to Iredell Memorial. I was septic and my body was shutting down—I was dying.
My husband was also treated there for blood clots in his lungs, and once again they saved a life.
When my son was in a head-on dirt bike collision, the doctors and nurses were already outside waiting when my husband pulled up to the emergency entrance with him.
