Crosby Scholars of Iredell County will host its biggest event of the year on Tuesday, April 28, at the Statesville Event Center, honoring 270 graduating seniors and awarding 31 scholarships. Check-in and light refreshments begin at 6 p.m. The event begins at 6:30 p.m.
The night’s theme is Pathways To Success: Many Paths, One Purpose – Success After High School.
In addition to announcing scholarship awards, the Senior Celebration will honor all Crosby Scholars’ 2026 graduating seniors with a certificate, graduation cord, and a small gift. Students who have been part of the program from 6th through 12th grade without interruption will be presented with the Executive Director Award, which includes an additional gift. Eighteen Crosby Scholars Student Officers will also receive recognition.
The event will also feature a keynote address by Richard Totten. He will share stories of his own educational and career journey with a special message to students about success after high school.
The event will also officially open applications for Last Dollar Grants. These grants help Crosby Scholars who are attending college that face a shortfall between financial aid and the actual cost of college.
Since 2015, Crosby Scholars has been helping Iredell County students plan, prepare, and confidently take their next step after high school, whether that is college, community college, a trade school, the military or directly into the workforce. The program includes career exploration, resume building, ACT/SAT test prep, college tours, application reviews, financial aid/FAFSA info, and scholarships. Crosby Scholars is open to all public middle and high schoolers in Iredell County, and is completely free.
