Mooresville Fire-Rescue and the Mount Mourne Fire Department personnel were alerted for a structure fire on Shearers Road about 7:27 p.m. on Saturday. Responding units reported seeing smoke from a distance, and arriving units transmitted a working fire in an auto repair shop with heavy fire showing. South Iredell Fire Department was alerted for their air van and Iredell County EMS personnel also responded. Firefighters stretched two hose lines and started attacking the fire and knocking the flames down. One person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. The fire was placed under control at 7:57 p.m. Firefighters remained on the scene for several hours hitting hot spots and overhauling debris. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
