Iredell County ECOM named North Carolina NENA 911 Center of the Year

Iredell County Emergency Communications (ECOM) has been honored as the North Carolina NENA 911 Center of the Year. The recognition was announced Monday at the North Carolina NENA/APCO Annual Conference. The award recognizes a 911 center that demonstrates exceptional service, innovation, professionalism, and a sustained commitment to public safety and community support.

Iredell County ECOM was selected for its strong leadership, dedication to training and professional development, adoption of advanced technologies, and its consistent delivery of high‑quality emergency communications services to residents, first responders, and partner agencies across the county.

Daryl Conley, Iredell County Public Safety director, praised the team’s achievement and the significance of the recognition.

“This award reflects the incredible professionalism and heart of our ECOM team. Every day, they are the calm voice in someone’s worst moment, and they carry that responsibility with skill, compassion, and unwavering commitment. I’m proud of the work they do, proud of the standards they set, and proud to see them recognized as the best 911 center in North Carolina.”

The North Carolina NENA 911 Center of the Year Award highlights excellence in operational performance, community engagement, and the advancement of 911 services statewide.
