The Iredell County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 10 in Statesville held its annual ceremony on Thursday to honor the 12 local officers who lost their lives while protecting the communities they served. A rose was placed on each of the 12 empty chairs in front of 12 flags placed in remembrance of those officers. FOP Lodge President Rodney James greeted attendees, and the Mooresville Police Department and Statesville Police Department Honor Guards participated in the ceremony. North Carolina Fraternal Order of Police President Chet Effler was the featured speaker. A wreath was placed by the memorial bearing the 12 officers’ names, the departments they served and their end of watch date.
