THE IREDELL COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS WILL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING ON TUESDAY, MAY 5, 2026, AT 6:00 P.M. AT NC COOPERATIVE EXTENSION, 444 BRISTOL DRIVE, STATESVILLE, NC, TO HEAR THE FOLLOWING REQUEST:

REZONING REQUEST: Owner/Applicant Phillip Johnson, Doris Johnson Revoc. Living Trust is requesting to rezone the southern portion of a parcel of land along Weeping Cherry Lane, approximately 18 acres, from City of Statesville’s Urban Low Density Residential (R-10) to Residential Agricultural (RA). This is a conventional request resulting from a City of Statesville release of planning and zoning jurisdiction. The property will become part of the landowner’s existing family subdivision.

The meeting will also be broadcast on Spectrum 1306 and available via livestream on the Iredell County website (https://iredellcountync.gov). The public hearing will be held to receive public comment, both written and oral, on the proposed above items. Written comments regarding the public hearing can be mailed to Iredell County, Attention Clerk to the Board, PO Box 788, Statesville, NC 28687, or by email at publiccomment@iredellcountync.gov. Written comments may be submitted between publication of this notice and 24 hours prior to the scheduled time for the beginning of the public hearing.
