A motorcyclist was fatally injured in a crash in Iredell County on Tuesday night, according to the N.C. State Highway Patrol. Emergency responders were dispatched to Midway Road near Storm Lane about 10:45 p.m.

Caleb Pender, 32, succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a hospital by Iredell County EMS personnel, troopers said.

According to the preliminary investigation, Pender was traveling west when his motorcycle left the road, hit a fence, and overturned.
