Pharos Parenting will hold four parenting classes that cover a wide range of topics on different ages of raising children this summer.
Parent Like a Pro, a class that covers general parenting for all ages, will be held at Pharos Parenting, located at 1603 Norwood Road in Statesville, at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays from June 23 through September 1. This class will cover topics such as creating stronger bonds between parent and child and how to discipline effectively.
A class for new and expecting parents, Best Beginnings, will begin on June 25 and be held at 3 p.m. on Thursdays through July 30 at Pharos Parenting. This course covers many aspects of the baby’s first year of development. Other topics like routines, safety, and milestones will be discussed.
For those who have taken Best Beginnings or are preparing for the next stage of their baby’s development, there will be a Tots & Toddlers class at 10:30 a.m. on Mondays from June 29 through August 17 at Pharos Parenting. As a natural follow-up to Best Beginnings, this class discusses how to talk to your toddler, emotional awareness, tantrums, and potty training.
Pharos Parenting is partnering with the Iredell County Partnership for Young Children by hosting a Nailed It! with Love and Logic course at the new ICPYC office in Mooresville at The Christian Mission, located at 919 N. Main Street in Mooresville. This class is not only good for parents with older children, but it will provide practical skills that can be used for all relationships. This class will cover topics such as ending arguments and avoiding power struggles. It will be held at 6 p.m. on Mondays from June 22 through August 31.
“We’re glad to once again offer a class in downtown Mooresville to be more accessible to the families in the southern part of Iredell County,” said Nate Saunders, communications director for Pharos Parenting. “We were grateful that the United Way provided space for us last summer and we’re excited to host a class at the Iredell County Partnership for Young Children at their new Mooresville office.”
These classes are offered free to the public thanks to sponsorship from Raymer Oil Company.
