“ICONIC” promises an unforgettable weekend of entertainment showcasing the incredible talent, dedication, and passion of SDPA dancers. Audiences can expect a high-energy mix of performances featuring both recreational and nationally award-winning competition dancers ranging in age from 3 years old through adults.
From heartwarming beginner performances to powerful, technically advanced routines from SDPA’s elite competition team, each show will celebrate the growth and accomplishments of the studio’s dancers throughout the season. The production will feature a variety of dance styles including jazz, lyrical, hip hop, tap, contemporary, musical theatre, ballet, and more — all brought to life through exciting choreography, dazzling costumes, and the studio’s bold “ICONIC” theme.
One of the most special moments of the weekend will once again be the performance by SDPA’s Special Olympics of Iredell County dance team. Their performance has become a beloved tradition at recital and continues to inspire audiences year after year through their joy, determination, and love of dance.
Another highlight of recital weekend will be performances by SDPA’s adult dance programs. From Ballet and Tap to Jazz and Hip Hop, these talented dancers prove it is never too late to pursue a love of dance. Audiences will also be entertained by the studio’s crowd-favorite “Dancing Dads,” whose high-energy performances have become a fun and memorable recital tradition.
“Recital weekend is always such a meaningful celebration for our studio,” said Haley Price, marketing manager. “These dancers have worked incredibly hard all season long, and we are so excited to give them the opportunity to shine on stage in front of their families, friends, and community.”
Statesville Dance & Performing Arts encourages the community to come out and support local youth, arts education, and the incredible dancers who have dedicated countless hours to preparing for this year’s production.
