A Troutman faces more than a dozen charges in connection with a series of motor vehicle break-ins following an investigation by the Troutman Police Department.

The TPD announced the arrest of Semaj Andrew Anderson, 31, of Meadows Park Loop, Troutman, in a news release on Thursday.
About 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a report of an attempted breaking and entering of a motor vehicle in the 100 block of Wheelwright Way police said. Officers obtained a description of the suspect and shared the information with surrounding units. An Iredell County Sheriff’s Office located Anderson a short distance away on Talley Street, according to the news release.
Anderson was arrested and charged with misdemeanor attempted breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. He was taken before a magistrate and issued a $1,000 secured bond.
On Wednesday, officers canvassed the Colonial Crossing neighborhood and located additional vehicles that had been broken into, with items reported stolen, according to the news release.
Detectives subsequently obtained warrants charging Anderson with nine counts of felony breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and three counts of larceny. These additional warrants were served, and Anderson’s bond was increased to $30,000.
The TPD reminds all residents to lock your vehicles at all times—even when parked in your driveway. Taking this simple step helps protect your belongings and reduces opportunities for crime.
