A Winston-Salem woman has been charged with stealing $18,000 from another individual’s bank account following an investigation by the Troutman Police Department.

The TPD announced the arrest of Anne Flynn, 43, in a news release.
The Criminal Investigations Unit opened an investigation on March 31 after the TPD received a report involving the fraudulent withdrawal of $18,000 from a victim’s bank account.
During the investigation, detectives determined that a female suspect entered the Troutman branch of Truist Bank and impersonated the victim by presenting fraudulent identification in order to withdraw funds from the victim’s account, police said.
With assistance from a Truist fraud investigator, detectives identified the suspect as Flynn, according to the TPD.
As a result of the investigation, detectives obtained warrants charging Flynn with forgery, identity theft, obtaining property by false pretenses, and possession of fraudulent identification.
Flynn was arrested in Forsyth County. She was jailed in lieu of a $100,000 secured bond on the Troutman charges, along with additional charges filed by other law enforcement agencies.
