Mrs. Annie Lee Parker Kinney, 71, of 137 Carriage Road, Statesville, N.C., passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019, at her home surrounded by family following an extended illness. She was born in Iredell County on August 3, 1948, and was the daughter of the late Charlie Parker and Maggie Sherrill Parker. She was married to Leonard Kinney, who survives, for over 52 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Anthony J. Kinney and Leonard Jerrod Kinney III; a sister, Linda Bailey; brother, Little Charlie Parker Jr., step-mother-in-law, Odell Kinney; her father-in-law, Clifton Kinney; brothers-in-law, Lamont Kinney, Clemmon Kinney and Clifford Kinney; a step sisters-in-law, Judy Carson and Kazella Kinney; and a niece, April Gillespie.

She was a graduate of Unity High School and was a lifelong member of Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church, where she served as an Usher, on the Kitchen Committee, the Hospitality Committee and worked with the Women’s Ready Conference.

In addition to her husband, Leonard Kinney, she leaves to cherish the memory of her life her children, Leonard “Naughty” (Shelley) Kinney of Statesville and Kizlar Kinney Heaggans of the home; one brother, Wilbert (Brenda) Parker of Harmony; three sisters, Peggy (Tyrone) Morrison, Maggie (Ted) Alexander and Kathy Grimes, all of Statesville; brothers-in-law, Elera (Cheryl) Kinney, Aaron Hill, Jonathan (Val) Kinney, Rickey (Paula) Kinney and Claude (Tammy) Carson, all of Cleveland, Ohio, Jaco (Carolyn) Kinney of Norfollk, Va., Matthew (Darlene) Kinney of Matthews; sisters-in-law, Jackie Hudson, Tresie Hill, Sabrina Jefferson, Renee Kinney, Yvette Kinney, Sharon Kinney and Daffney Copeland, all of Cleveland, Ohio; her grandchildren, Marvin (Ashley) Heaggans, Antoine (Clarrissa) Heaggans, Lasasha Kinney, Nichelle Kinney (Charles) Raines, and Ashley Kinney; great grandchildren, Marcheana Heaggans, Makayla Heaggans, Laysha Brown, Ja’Nae Brown, Mayilah Heaggans, Faith Heaggans, Aniyah Heaggans, Arianna Heaggans, Antionne Heaggans Jr., Deyontae Kinney, Adreama Kinney, Deyontae Kinney, Charity Raines, Mariah Raines, Charles Raines Jr., Mikko Raines and JeMareyah Stevenson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Saturday, January 4, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church. Rev. Dr. Dietrich M. Danner will officiate and burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Linney will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state at 12:30 p.m. Members of the family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other time.
