Ms. Brenda Robertson was born in Randolph County, N.C., on November 19, 1945, and was the daughter of the late James Carven Gray and Rosalee Holt Gray. She departed this life on December 20, 2020, from an extended illness.

Brenda was a graduate of Morningside High School and was a member of Statesville Covenant Cathedral. At the time of her death, she was retired from Iredell-Statesville Schools as a teacher assistant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Randolph “June” Little, Ronald T. Little and William “Billy” Gray; nephews Brian Kevin Gray and William “Little Bill” Gray; and a niece, Leslie Dawn Gray.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life three daughters, Maria (Robert) White, Andrea (Anthony) Darty of Statesville, and Kimberly Alysia Blackwell of Rockwell, N.C; one son, William (Cynthia) Blackwell of Charlotte, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Antonio Deshawn (Nicky) Gray, Ayanna Darty of Statesville, Shateria Renek Blackwell, Kameron Blackwell, Candace, Cameron, Brandace Mayes, Jhakeya and James Sims of Charlotte; one sister, Patricia Gray of Statesville; one brother, James “Jimmi” Little; an adopted daughter, Chandra Harris; one aunt, Amanda Brown of Salisbury, N.C.; eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and dear friends.

Ms. Brenda left a prayer legacy with all the intercessors that will never part.nShe is dancing and singing with Mama Rose, Billy, and Kevin and will intercede for her children Toni, Robert, Rennie, Cynt, Andrea, Kim, Yana, Deshawn, Pat and all her family, prayer partners and friends.

When you see blessings and things have been intercepted and the impossible she’s interceding on our behalf.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Bishop Samuel Thomas will officiate.
