Mrs. Chloa Lippard Willis, 106, of Statesville, N.C., passed away, Sunday, January 5, 2020, at the Gordon Hospice House.

Mrs. Willis was born August 6, 1913, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Alexander Brown Lippard and Lillie Snow Lippard. She was a graduate of Scotts High School and was first married to the late Carroll Breman Bollinger, who passed away in 1947, and she later married the late Theron W. Willis, who passed away in 1971.

She was a housemother at Davis Hospital School of Nursing and was a dispatcher for a number of years for the Iredell County Sheriff’s Department. She was a member of Front Street Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 40 years, was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and was Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star before retiring. She loved knitting, crocheting, cooking and being a caregiver for her Uncle Fat.

Mrs. Willis is survived by three grandchildren, Suzie Bollinger of Statesville, Joe Bollinger of Asheville, Beth Reavis of Boone; one great granddaughter, Natalie Harkey of Boone; one great-great grandson, Ransom Harkey of Boone; a step-granddaughter, Jane Carol Summerell of Statesville; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Bollinger of Statesville.

She was preceded in death by a son, Carroll B. Bollinger Jr.; a daughter, Nancy Carol Bollinger Reavis; a grandson, John David Reavis; a granddaughter, Chloa Atina Bollinger; a sister, Ruth Blackburn; and five brothers, Frank, Sam, Eugene, Kenneth and Brownie.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at Front Street Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Stutts officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church.
