On November 16, 2020, Jerry Wayne Harmon, a solider of the Lord, received his discharge papers and has gone home to be with his wife Linda and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born in Iredell County on May 23, 1938, he was the son of the late Lonnie Harmon and Louise Collins Harmon. Jerry graduated from Iredell County Schools, retired from Merchant Metals as a supervisor and served faithfully at Calvary Baptist Church, in the bus ministry, and he was a missionary in the Ukraine. He was well loved and will be missed greatly.

In 1978, he married Linda Carol Murdock and they shared 42 years together until her passing on August 27, 2020.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three brothers, Carrol Harmon, Chester Harmon and Sidney Harmon; four sons, Kevin Harmon, Ken Harmon, Chuck Harmon and Christopher Harmon; and one daughter, Tracie Harmon.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 17, 2020, during the 11 a.m. service at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Haizlip and Rev. Dermont Crabtree.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Nehemiah Project, c/o Calvary Baptist Church, 504 White’s Mill Road, Statesville, NC 28677.
