John Michael Williamson, 37, of Statesville, N.C., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.
John was born November 24, 1982, in Iredell County and was the son of Karen Sherrill Williamson of Statesville and the late George Eugene Williamson Jr. He was a graduate of South Iredell High School, Class of 2000, and was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. On November 9, 2013, he married Clinique “Nicole” Harris. He was working at Lowes Corp. in Mooresville. He loved his family, friends and enjoyed his hobbies.
In addition to his wife and mother, John is survived by two sisters, Jessica W. McCurdy (Chad) of Statesville and Alexis W. Lambert (Kris) of Statesville; one brother, Tom Williamson of Statesville; four nieces, Miranda McCurdy, Chloe Lambert, Charley Williamson, and Harper Williamson; two nephews, Austin McCurdy and Jakob Lambert; and four cats, Tyler, Sam, Dora and Honey.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, at 156 Beech Brook Lane, Statesville, NC 28625.

John and I used to play together as teens… living in the same neighborhood, and his house being the bus stop, it was a pleasure being able to have known him. After graduating, any time I would bump into him in public, he was always just as friendly and genuine as he was when we were younger. Alexis and Tom, and family, I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Mine and my families sincerest condolences.
