David Lee Caldwell, 73, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Gordon Hospice House. He was born on June 4, 1947, in Mooresville to the late Billy and Nadine Compton Caldwell.

Mr. Caldwell was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1970. He worked at General Times in Davidson and General Micro-Circuits in Mooresville. He was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church in Mooresville, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher.

Mr. Caldwell was a big collector, especially of coins, license plates, Beanie Babies, military medals, and movies. He enjoyed nature, bird watching, and traveling. He was an avid Mooresville Blue Devil fan and rarely missed a football game.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cynthia Shuler Caldwell; children, Chad Caldwell, and Cindy London (Rodney); grandchildren, Bradly and Kimberly London; and cousins, Sheri Stutts Ellington (Herb) and Jason Parker.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, at Glenwood Memorial Park with Rev. David Klinedinst and Rev. Hal Greene officiating.
