Hazel Cheek Smith, 76, of Harmony, N.C., passed away at her residence on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. Born in Wilkes County, N.C., on February 5, 1945, she was the daughter of the late James Cheek and Lexie Colbert Cheek.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, five sisters, and her husband, Curtis Lee Smith, in June 1995.

Hazel graduated North Wilkes High School in 1963 and spent her life taking care of her family and working in her yard and flower gardens. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Those left to cherish her memory are four sons, Ricky Lee Smith, Randy Smith (Tina Willard), Michael Smith (Cindy Anderson), and Dennis Smith (Tracy); one daughter, Sandy Toney (C.W.); thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and one on the way. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 1, 2021, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be gathered at 214 Doby Road, Mocksville, NC 27028.

The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, April 2, 2021, at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Iredell Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Stevenson, Marcus Stevenson, Reggie Smith, Curtis Smith, Adam Thomas, and Scottie Taylor.
