Howard Winford Lewis Jr., age 78, passed away on March 29, 2021, at 5:31 p.m.

He was born in Asheville, N.C., on December 2, 1942, to Howard and Grace Lewis. Howard attended Owen High School in Swannanoa, N.C. where he excelled in all sports. He married his high school sweetheart, Judi, in 1961 and they enjoyed 60 wonderful years together. Howard retired from Bank of America after 38 years in Computer Systems.

Howard and his wife Judi enjoyed RV-ing after retirement to many destinations all over, including his favorite place, Disney World. Howard was a family man who loved his sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren dearly. He supported them in everything they did from sports to their adult accomplishments, and he will be greatly missed by many.

Howard is survived by his wife Judi Lewis; sons Rocky (Martha) and Keith (Dana); grandchildren Megan Bolt, Tyler Lewis, Mariah Otto, Madison Ferrell, Makenzie Lewis, and Stetson Lewis; great grandchildren Mason, Asher, Jonah, and River Bolt; and great friend Zip Helms and travel buddy Tommy Craig.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Howard and Grace; brother Charles Lewis; and dear friend Nita Craig.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 7, from 3 to 4 p.m. with a service following at 4 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel.
