Kathie Mae Parker, 71, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.

Kathie was born in Alleghany County, Va., on March 7, 1950, and was the daughter of Lewis Roy and Bessie Austin Parker, both of whom preceded her in death. Kathie was a graduate of Alleghany County High School. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a medical receptionist with Iredell Memorial Hospital for 15-plus years.

Kathie was a woman who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and found great joy in being in the House of God worshipping with her church family. She enjoyed simple things in life to pass the time such as crafting, reading, and interior decorating. Kathie also loved all things HGTV, and you could find her curled up in her chair watching Hallmark movies. Nothing in life brought her more enjoyment than her family. She deeply loved her children and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Everly Rose Pope, along with three brothers and one sister.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Michelle Lail of State Road and Natalie Woolledge (Justin) of Mooresville, along with five grandchildren, Eric Pope (Caroline), Kayla and Laura Heafner, and Meredith and Noble Woolledge. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Ella and Caleb Pope and Nathaniel and Liam Heafner. She is further survived by two sisters, Charlotte Cordier of Murphy, Texas, and Alice Deeds (Jim) of Clifton Forge, Va., along with a host of nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Kathie Parker will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Woolledge officiating. The family will visit with friends from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Piedmont Baptist Church, 5870 Wright Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
