Mrs. Dollie Mae Faulkner Nealous was born May 21, 1938, in South Boston, Va., and was the daughter of the late William and Janie Greene Faulkner. She departed this life at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C., on April 2, 2022, following an extended illness.

Mother Nealous attended Mary Bethune High School in Virginia, and was a member of Christ Cathedral of Deliverance Church in Statesville, N.C. She worked at a knitting company as a sewing machine operator. Dollie will truly be missed.

She leaves to cherish the memories of her life four sons, James (Phyllis) Faulkner of Dallas, Ga., Curry Nealous of South Boston, Va., William (Tonya) Nealous of Lithonia, Ga., and Andre (Monica) Nealous of Raleigh; eight grandchildren, De’Ontre Nealous, Dana Coulter, Suketa Melton, Adam Hughes, Nicole Newton, Jerome Carter, Michael Nealous, and Makayla Nealous; a caregiver, Mrs. Valerie (Deacon Larry Keaton) Keaton; and a host of great grandchildren, uncles, aunts, cousins, church members, other relatives, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Christ Cathedral of Deliverance, Statesville, N.C. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 12 noon until 1 p.m., with Apostle Carl D. Lykes officiating. Burial will be in the Belmont cemetery.
