Lawrence Edmond Wiegman, 80, of Statesville, N.C., died Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Born in Mansfield, Ohio, he was a son of the late Donald Wiegman and Helen Rizer Wiegman.

Mr. Wiegman was a retired Southeast Regional Manager for the Waste Technology Division of Schaefer Systems International, Inc. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a graduate of Ohio State University. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, enjoyed traveling and was a scratch golfer.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Marianne Stanovich Wiegman; a son, Scott Wiegman; two daughters, Laurie Dishman and Lisa Fox; and two sisters, Janet Boeckman and Cathy Hawk. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Chris Dishman, Ryan Powell, Natalie Powell, Nicholas Powell, Taylor Wiegman and Hayden Wiegman. He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Bryan Dishman. Two great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Ernie Sheldon officiating. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Salisbury at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2022.
The service will be live streamed on the Nicholson Funeral Home website.
