Bridget Renee McKeny went home to be with the Lord on December 19, 2023. Bridget fought a long and courageous battle against cancer never ceasing to display her faith and strength throughout the process.

Bridget was born on June 1, 1971, in South Charleston, W.Va. She was the sweetest most beautiful girl and woman that God ever blessed this world with. Bridget was a graduate of Dunbar High School in Dunbar, W.Va., where she was a cheerleader. Bridget was a graduate of the University of Houston with a degree in math. She also attended Marshall University. Bridget loved teaching and was a math teacher and a cheerleading coach in Texas, helping many children. She reunited with her high school sweetheart, William Trippe McKeny Sr., and was married for twenty years. They raised one son and two “bonus” daughters. Bridget ran her husband’s law office and worked there throughout the marriage while running the household and raising the children.

Bridget is survived by her husband, William Trippe McKeny Sr. of Statesville, N.C.; her parents, Larry Lee Hutsenpiller and Ruth Ann Hutsenpiller of Dunbar, W.Va.; her son, William Trippe McKeny Jr. of Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va.; her “bonus” daughters, Kaylee Jane McKeny of UT Austin in Austin, Texas, and Alexandria Morgan McKeny of RCCC in Statesville, N.C.; her sister, April Dawson and husband Ron of Red House, W.Va.; her brother, Lee Hutsenpiller and wife Sherri of Dunbar, W.Va.; and her cousins, nieces, nephews and a great nieces. Bridget was a member of Phaniels Baptist Church in Rockwell, N.C.

As Bridget requested, there will be a celebration on June 1, 2024. Please contact the family for further details. Bridget’s earthly remains will be interred at the Parkins Family Cemetery in Paradise, W.Va.

Bridget will be forever missed and her love will never be replaceable. Heaven has a beautiful Cheerleading Angel now. We miss you, Honeybear.
