Donald Eugene Levan, 76, of Troutman, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Autumn Care of Statesville.

He was born on November 8, 1946, in Mooresville, N.C., to the late Odis Levan and Dorothy Lowe Thompson. Mr. Levan was a U.S. Army veteran. He served during the Vietnam War as a medic. He was a member of Troutman First United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir. He loved watching TV, especially old black and white movies, Westerns, and football, with lots of snacks. Mr. Levan enjoyed going to the beach, swimming in the ocean, and being with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Phyllis Hartford Levan; daughters, Angie Bolt and husband Jim, and Kara Lozano; brother, Danny Levan and companion, Sandra; and grandson, Phillip Lozano.

A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, at Troutman First United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Hamrick officiating. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 3, at Glenwood Memorial Park.
