Georgia Scott Ferguson, the daughter of late Champ Scott Sr. and Daisey Mae Waddell Scott was born September 4, 1942, in Iredell County, N.C. Georgia attended Unity High School. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Cameron Presbyterian Church, where she was a dedicated member. At Cameron, she served faithfully as a deaconess.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Sammy Ferguson Jr. for 54 years.

As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life Monday, May 29, 2023, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville, N.C. She was preceded in death by her daughters Vickie Scott and Wendy “Chell” White, along with her siblings, Bill Scott, Helen “Gin” Houpe, Champ “Butcher” Scott Jr. and Mary Francis “Sis” Everhart.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, Dwight (Crystal)Scott, Eddie (April) Scott, and James “Boonie” Scott, of Statesville, N.C.; brothers, Robert (Francis) Scott, William (Dorothy) Scott, both from Cleveland, N.C., and Bob Tucker of California; grandchildren, Travis (Shantel) Scott, Jamar Scott, Latoya Scott, Ashley Scott, Kenya Scott, Malaysia Scott, Sierra Scott and Dezion Scott; great grandchildren, Jazmine Scott, Zoey Scott, Trezden Davis, Trevor Davis Jayden Scott, Isis Scott, and Jaxson Turner; sister-in-law, Rebecca Ferguson, and brothers-in-Law, Willie Everhart, Joseph (Maggie) Ferguson, and Lawrence (Vickie) Ferguson; and caregiver, Sylvia “Candy” Brown. Georgia also holds special moments and memories in the lives of her nieces, nephew, and cousin.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Cameron Presbyterian Church, Statesville, N.C. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. at the church. Reverend Timothy Bates will officiate and Reverend Willie Everhart will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery, Statesville, N.C.
