Grier Edward Brown, 94, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023. He was born on March 28, 1929, in Iredell County to the late James Walter Brown and Della Pethel Brown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Lena Brown Beam; brothers Carl Brown, Harry Brown, and Cansell Brown; and son-in-law, Pressley Karriker.

He is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Lois Faye Spillman Brown; daughter, Janice Brown Karriker of Mooresville; son, James “Jim” McKinley Brown and husband Robert Wade Rogers of Asheville, N.C.; grandchildren Yvonne Smith, Leticia Bradshaw, and Eben Karriker; great grandchildren, Daphne Bradshaw, Ben Karriker, Jackson Karriker, Sloan Karriker, and Kenneth Randall II.

Grier and Lois were avid Airstreamers and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada with the International Wally Byam Caravan Club. He was an officer in the Carolinas Airstream Club and loved camping and being on the open road. His life’s work was either being on a tractor farming or sitting in front of a computer being a software programmer. He loved hunting and fishing, especially surf fishing on the Outer Banks, N.C. His faith in God and his devotion to his family always came first.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Ward and Rev. Joseph Alghrary officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park, Mooresville.
