Mr. Hobert Dalton Redmon, 101, was born in Iredell County on March 2, 1922, to the late Lydia Dalton Redmon. He departed this life Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Gordon Hospice House. He was married to Gladys Bellamy Redmon, who survives.

Mr. Redmon attended the Yadkin County School System and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his children, Tommyette Whiteside, Norma Ruth Redmon, Victor Lee Redmon and Adrian Redmon; and his siblings, Boss Redmon, Bill Dalton, Ina Dalton, Leatha Redmon.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life his wife, Gladys Redmon of the home; seven sons, Terry (Angela) Redmon of Salisbury, Elvis Redmon of Wilkesboro, Hobert Greg Redmon of Statesville, Able Redmon and Benjie Redmon both of Harmony, Hobert Junior Redmon of Tennessee, and Larry Redmon of Baltimore; four daughters, Etta Jean Lynch of Statesville, Mary Redmon of Northern Virginia, Cindy Redmon of Wilkesboro and Ruth Ann Rodriguez of Virginia; a host of grandchildren, including Jessica Redmon, Jousha Redmon, Kristy Redmon, Natalie Panameno, Dominic Fogler, Arnold Velasquez, Alicia Velasquez, Briana Rodriguez, and Jessie Rodriguez; and a host uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary at 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Iredell Memorial Park with Military Rites.
