Ms. Irma Jean Rivers, 77, was born in Adel, Ga., on September 7, 1946, to the late John Henry Rivers and Carrie Mae Morris Rivers. She departed this life on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

After graduation, Irma attended trade school at Davie County Training School. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a machine operator at Cannon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Rivers; and her two sisters, Pauline Rivers Dillard, and Frances Allison.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life two sons, Kalvin Kolbert Rivers of Statesville, N.C., and George Zebadee Rivers (Naketa) of Salisbury, N.C.; one daughter, Carrie A. Rivers of Raleigh, N.C.; siblings, John Russell Rivers of Statesville, N.C., Elizabeth Rivers of Statesville, N.C., Bernice Rousour, and Jimmy Neil Mayfield, both of Cleveland, Ohio, and Vivian Wright of Manassas, Va.; two special nephews, Shawn (Amanda) Ellis, and Demond (Juanita) Sharpe; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 1 p.m. at The Living Church, Statesville, N.C. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at the church and burial will follow in Iredell Memorial Park.
